Getting pissed off with this type of job advert

I did apply for a job like this in Leeds 20 years ago and did one morning. We went our separate ways at lunch and told to meet at a location and I didn't return

Its the biggest amount of BS. Basically went round in groups to offices and sold plastic crap to workers. In a similar way to on The Apprentice when they done a task of making some food, then sell it at a stall in the market. When they still got stock left, they go to offices and shops flogging their leftover stock just to get rid of it.

Why do these companies exist?

How can you tell it’s this sort of job from the advert? And I presume they do it to make money?

The job I applied for 20 years ago was almost the same word for word.
