Is this guilt normal?

I visit people at home doing jobs for them, cleaning, shopping etc. I decided that I want to move onto something else and was ready to hand my notice in.
At the end of one visit an elderly lady said 'it's not nice to think you are so unimportant they forget to do things for you' commenting about a visitor they'd seen recently. I offered to remedy situation but told doesn't matter now.
I woke up a few days later all geared up to leave job when this comment came back to me and made me feel really guilty I felt myself getting depressed. I scrapped plans to leave. I've struggled with depression & anxiety recently. Is this normal?

Normal is a weird and somehow meanness word in this context. It’s a shame you don’t feel you should move on - it’s good to care about your clients but you do need to put yourself first and accept that ultimately they aren’t your responsibility. Be a bit kinder to yourself perhaps?
