Hi all

I have been off work for 3 days and not sure if I'll be able to work tomorrow.

Sick pay from my employer is discretionary and therefore unpredictable.

Can anyone tell me how SSP works please as I'm potentially in a very difficult situation financially from being off work.

Thank you.

With my ( and I belive most employers that use just ssp)
the 1st 3 days = no pay at all but this should give you all the info you need.

Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)

Your Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) - how much you get, eligibility, how to claim SSP, fit notes, disputes.

Yeah PP is correct, SSP is not available for first 3 days

Thank you. Would the weekend count towards this if I was absent Monday-Wednesday?

If you have a look at the link it is talking about working days.

SSP is shocking!
nothing for the first 3 days and then it’s just a couple of ££ over 100!
I had to live off that for 12 weeks when I had an accident without any other help!

@Mayyay The Monday would count as Day 1.

Thank you
