Supervisor roles

I've been working in the security industry for nearly 10 years and loved every minute until this year. Our company was taken over with other bosses. Due to the original one getting in some trouble for some reason like assault!! Well we all got hauled in for a new interview and what we'd like in the future. Up until recently I've never been offered a supervisor role. It's all been men. That have been somewhat lacking in experience and hygiene and common sense. Anyway after asking the old manager why I feel I'm being left out for supervisor roles his reply was somewhat difficult and disgusting and I'm still in shock with his reasoning. Apparently he feels I wouldn't be able to handle the role and certain reactions to other women because I was raped!!! Because apparently an ex employee got triggered when she went to help someone who had just been sexually assaulted. So she had to be removed aswell. My question is where the hell do I stand he also says its because of my age which I'm 50 yet he employes men well over 50 as supervisors. And I told him I can guarantee that I can handle and council a woman who has been sexually assaulted I've done it many times and all women have thanked me for being so understanding. I'm so angry with him please help me

  1. Email him saying you're confirming that you heard the earlier conversation to be xx as you want to make sure you understood correctly.
  1. Speak to your union. Or ACAS.
