LONG ONE!

so, I’ve recently (4 weeks) ago started a new job, within a adult care, after leaving a toxic workplace.
im shadowing at the moment as our building isn’t open (mid Nov we will be in)
already the regional manager has had to step in due to other members of staff not being helpful and rude. We then as a team helped our marketing colleague out at a weekend event, she was absolutely awful as well. As you can imagine this has really upset me. This is a full time role good money, management, I can do a lot of self funded qualifications.

however, because of these issues I have applied for a a assistant role, in a school term time only, 30 hours a week, on a lot less pay and responsibility I have a job interview tomorrow for it …..

I have a 3 year old where I do have to juggle school holidays. My husband works away mostly so cannot rely on him for school runs etc…

money isn’t really a massive problem to be fair we would just have to learn to live within our means, I just don’t know what to do for the best. I haven’t slept since it all happened. Both my current job and the school job are role that do not come up often at all in my area.

advice, experience and opinions NEEDED

Personally, I would take the job in the school. Good luck 🙂

I second taking the school job. It will work so well when your child needs holiday childcare.

I'd stay where I was and get the qualifications/experience to move.

Reason: like many people, trapped in the education system (because nowhere else recognises the level of responsibility, knowledge and skills needed, any more than the schools do).
