Maternity leave - HR question?

Hey guys

I’m just wondering what the below means?

Enhanced maternity pay of 18 weeks full pay after one year's service

does that mean you have to be there a year before you get pregnant to get the 18 weeks pay or does it mean you have to have been there a year (I.e work 3 months, get pregnant then go on Mat leave 9 months later) to qualify for a year service to get the pay?

sooooo confused!!

TIA xx

Usually means that you have to have worked there for 12 months by the time the qualifying week comes (expected week of confinement) during pregnancy.
It should state in your companies parental leave policy x

Yeah this is the case at most places, you have to have already worked there for 12 months by your qualifying week which is roughly 25 weeks pregnant. Check your contract though.
