Interviews - how much time do you prepare for?

How much time do you put into preparing for an interview? I mean a bog standard interview and not one where you have to do a presentation etc.

I have an interview this week and I have put a few hours into reading about the employer and preparing typical questions and answers etc, but I wonder what is usual? I am looking to return to the workforce after quite a few years away so I do wonder if I am overthinking things - but I’m terrified of going blank with nerves and making a fool of myself!

I’ve got a couple of interviews coming up. I expect I’ll read the accounts, webpage, sector guidance and anything else that stands out for each firm. Half a day’s prep for each.

Best of luck OP 🍀.
