Tribunal claim

An ex colleague is taking the employer to tribunal. My ex colleague keeps messaging talking about work and I really don’t feel comfortable. It is though they want to slag off the place or fish for information. I still work there and don’t want to risk my job. Another colleague has cut them off since they found out the tribunal claim has been put in.

I would keep responses bland.

I would be really clear in pointing out to them that they've left the company now, so you aren't willing to talk about anything to do with work. (Protect yourself, first and foremost.). Then desist from talking about work at all.

Quite frankly I don't keep in touch with former work colleagues and they don't keep in touch with me. It's weird they're expecting you to, don't get sucked in,

Are they an actual friend? If not I would cut co tact. Anything you say to them could be used, even if it's an innocuous through away comment. I would wish them all the best and let them know ow that when everything is finished they are welcome to get in touch then.
