I work from home a few days a week and go a normal pace and get my work done. When I go to the office I start to get bad anxiety. My arms get tense and I feel pressured to respond to emails and action tasks straight away and feel
rushed. This was due to former colleagues in the team responding straight away and they expected others to do the same. I also feel that colleagues are watching me.
Some people are always away for over half hour on Microsoft Teams and they are not in meetings etc so I am not sure what they are doing and I know it is not my business. I don’t know why I feel so pressured to burn myself out in the office when some people are blatantly not working.
My manager saw me today and asked if I was ok as he was concerned about my workload. He knows there is a lot coming in. No one is able to cover my work when on annual leave and yet others in the business get their colleagues to cover. As it is a customer facing role it is stressful customers chasing up applications that came in when I was on annual leave and when I return when I have a backlog of work to catch up with. I should be allowed to have annual leave. The workload seems manageable at home but when in the office I feel I can’t cope even though it is the same workload.
