Toxic workplace

Hi all ,

just wondering if anyone have ever experienced this , I recently gave my notice in at work(I horrible toxic workplace!) and I’ve noticed that everyone (even the colleagues, I thought were okay) have been extremely horrible. Most of them of always been like this, hence why I am leaving(amongst many other reasons). But now it seems to have gotten worse , they snap at me , make remarks , one of them has even started claiming I’ve done things I haven’t (thank God for audit trailing!) . I’ve now just gone completely quiet from beginning to end of the shift , but wondering has anyone else had this issue before when leaving a toxic role ?

Im thinking they are more angrier, now that they won’t have any control over me ….

Get signed off.

Honestly get signed off by the doctor. F having to put up with that for your notice period.

They're probably jealous you're escaping the hell hole.
Keep your head down, leave without a backwards glance and be proud that you had the courage to move on.

You're leaving - why do you care?

I handed in my notice in in March - my boss's boss avoided me for the whole of my three month notice period.

They’re jealous that you’re getting out and they’re not 🙄

Wimpod · 07/10/2024 17:39

Yes, jealous that you are getting away and possibly predicting that they will get extra workload - if your workplace is as shit at most at filling vacancies quickly. ☹️

Still not your problem though, so I hope your remaining time passes quickly!

They're not worth your time and sound like people who don't like to see others do well. I'm guessing the ones you thought were okay are jealous you're leaving.

I get its hard not to care as you have to work with these people for a while longer and they shouldn't be blaming things on you either. If it's possible to go on the sick for a while, do so. Let them pick up the pieces - and the end of the day they'll have to do it once you go anyway.

Well done you for finding a way out and best of luck for your new role.

Yes, I think it's a form of cognitive dissonance - by leaving you are saying it is not a good place to work. By making you into a "bad person" they convince themselves you are the problem, not the workplace.
