New job after 36 years

I’ve been with my current employer for 36 years although moved departments early on, but been in the same department now for 20 years. Know my job inside out and have trained many people.
I decided this year was to be my last as was getting too demanding and the late nights are getting too much.
I’d applied for a few jobs, managed to get an interview and now been offered the job. The role is similar to what I’ve been doing just in a different environment. Fixed hours, no late nights so will be much better.
trying to stay positive but it’s so scary isn’t it, worrying if I’m capable of starting again, making a fool of myself, not being able to do the job. 4 weeks to go 😃🤞

Good luck! I imagine it's very daunting - I've been at my place over a decade and the thought of leaving feels very scary - but also there's something to be said for a fresh start for giving you a new mindset. I hope they're lovely and you really enjoy getting your teeth into something new :)

Thank you ☺️. I was leaving my current job by the end of the year anyway, with or without another job but this one came along at the right time. I had my interview on Friday 13th so I think it’s a sign it was meant to be.
