Good evening guys, just looking to see if anyone has the answers- the internet has multiple.
so started a job 17/9/24.
21 days holidays with 9 statutory days PRORATA.
any time I’ve worked previous it’s been 30/12= 2.5 days accrued per year.
however it’s now 21/12=1.75 days accrued per year
so basically I have 6 days between now and new year I’m told and I had expected 9.
does anyone know where I sit in this and what’s the legal requirements?
thanks
🤗

So you have 30 days inc statutory hols pro rata due to your start date. That’s slightly more than the legal minimum which is 28.

Is it 6 floating days? Have they applied any compulsory holidays to Christmas for example, meaning that your entitlement is more but you only have 6 to book?

I presume you work full time but if part time this may be a factor. You may also need to check your contract it should be included in that. Our company for example calculates entitlement based on number of weeks, rather than months.

Your contract should really tell you but if you have 30 it’s more than the legal requirement.

Your 9 stat hol days are the bank holidays which are fixed. So you have the 2 remaining bank hold this year (Xmas/boxing day), then 21/12 = 1.75 days per month otherwise.
