We’ve a new member of our administration team that shadowed me whilst minute taking yesterday morning, The Chair was asking me to do a task (a task something we never normally do) and I just didn’t know how to answer her…so I was trying to work out what she was asking ..and I think the chair has taken the hump with me. It took me a minute or two to get myself together and now I feel an absolute idiot in front of the new girl. How do I get my confidence back?

Laugh it off. I don't think you need to show the new girl that you're perfect. You're human. She'll get to see over time how good you are, but we all make mistakes!

Seconding laughing it off! Make a point of mentioning it as a piece of learning especially if the new person is struggling with anything, you can say, well, in these meetings you can be asked anything and even old hats can be stumped lol and you just have to <whatever you do to remedy the situation>

... I got cut off!

I was going to say that you just have do whatever is needed to remedy the situation (give an example of what you did after the meeting)
