NHS BackPay 2024 - Entitled if Changed Trust?

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I've been working in an NHS Trust since Jan 2023, and left at the end of August this year. I have since started in a new role, in a new Trust, this week (with a two week gap between posts).

It might be a long shot, but wondered if anyone knew whether I'd be able to get the back payment for money that should have been earned from April 1st this year, to end of August, once the pay increase and back payments are awarded in October. I have kept all payslips etc. If so, who would I explore this with - my previous trust or my current one?

I think your previous trust should pay you the difference - my old employer used to automatically, even if you had left.

Yes you would be entitled to the back pay from your first trust and a from new trust. Plus updated rate of pay

Keep close eye on your payslips.

Yes you are entitled to it, and it should happen automatically - you’ll get another payslip from your old Trust. If it doesn’t, you contact your old Trust’s payroll department.

If you had a P45 then unlikely you will automatically get the back-pay. I would email and ask them to pay it.

Please could I query whether you received your back payment? I am in the same situation of having transferred NHS trust after April '24 and am having trouble getting the back payment.
