Interview outfit

I have an interview in the City on Friday, for a professional role. I know most places nowadays dress down, but for interview should I still wear a suit? What’s the norm? Financial services company if that makes a difference.

The H&M website is down at the moment but they have great high waisted trousers which I've been wearing with a tshirt bodysuit and a mac coat - or blazer. I wear trainers although work in the city in finance also but we can wear smart casual. Go to H&M and you'll find tons. I don't see many women or men wearing suits these days unless they have to dress super formal.

I have had people ask me what the dress code is for an interview...it's a fair question, I don't interview many people wearing a suit now - (usually only grads dress formally) - we are in professional services where it used to be incredibly formal pre covid - it still is with some of our clients but they are the outliers. If you have a recruiter - ask them, otherwise a smart shirt and trousers strikes a good balance between smart but not OTT.
