AAT/ACCA marking

I’m thinking of applying to be an exam marker for AAT or ACCA

Does anyone else do this? Could you advise on rates of pay and whether it’s worth it ?

For reference I own a small accountancy practice and I’m ACCA qualified.

I know nothing about this line of work so forgive me !
But wouldn’t actual accountancy work be more lucrative?
And do you need to be a qualified accountant to mark this sort of stuff ? I would have thought there’s answer sheets to compare them to, which means basically anyone can mark them ?

Yes you do need to be a qualified accountant to mark them.

Accountancy work is of course more lucrative, but marking papers is a nice side line idea, although I think it’s quite difficult to get picked to do it.
