Is there any hope for me?

Hi guys,

I'm on the civil service reserve list from 2 different departments Home office and MOJ for EO positions.

I feel like I'm never going to get any EO role that I want. Sitting at home in tears.

Is there any hope that I will be taken off the reserve list? Or am I just giving myself false hope?

Please help

It is impossible to say, but I think I read somewhere that around half of people placed on a reserve list for a CS role will ultimately be offered a job. I am not sure, but I would imagine that includes reserve lists for internal vacancies as well as external campaigns.
You are entitled to know your position on the list, so perhaps get in touch with both Departments and ask what your position is? It isn't a perfect measure of your chances, but if you are number 1 on the list then you could perhaps feel more hopeful than if you were at 227?? But really, nobody can give you a good answer. Maybe keep applying - you're having some success just by meeting the standard and being placed on reserve, so work on your examples and interview technique and keep going.
