Helping re-entering the work force

I am seeking help getting back into full time work after a 13 years gaps. I left the UK 13 years ago to follow my husband, and to raise our three children. Forward to today, and my husband has left and here I am jobless. I've spent 6 months looking for work but its proving to be impossible having been out of work for so long and still living abroad. I know the reality is that i may have to come home but i really dont want to uproot the children from their school, friends and the only life they have known if i can help it.

I am a freelance writer just completing and MA in Creative Writing for which i expect to get a distinction. Before that I held brand roles and large corporates and have a solid background in marketing. Can anyone advise agencies that i can put my name down with or anything to help me get freelance or remote work. Ive tried Upwork, flex job, indeed, reed, Monster, Linkedin and despite applying for hours each day I have nothing. I would appreciate any advice at all. Thank you.

If you just want any job you might have to downplay your cv

Get any job to get a reference and recent work experience.
