Hi

Can anyone advise or has anyone started a job and found out they are pregnant?

What's the experience like?

I am not sure I should be going for this interview as I found out I'm pregnant.

Go for it. They'll probably find an excuse to drop you once they find out but if they don't they are a top gold star employer

You won’t be eligible for SMP if you’re already pregnant when you start work.

She could still apply for Maternity Allowance even if she doesn't qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay. Go for the job; why shouldn't you get it when pregnant?!

Yes, but it’s less money (usually) because you lose the 6 weeks at 90%.

The company I work for are decent and need to do something about their terrible stats on women in leadership roles so they are introducing paid mat leave as a day one right but in the past we’ve done this too if it’s someone who is really good at their job and we want to have return after mat leave- espeically if it was difficult to recruit them in the first place.
