Supply Teaching and feeling disrespected by the school (particularly the assistant head)

I accepted the role of covering a maternity until Christmas, the first two weeks of term is a spw start for a reception meaning they go home at 1pm, then since last week every afternoon was home visits. Tomorrow is my first free afternoon and I found out through an email I tagged into that assistant head has agreed on my behalf that I would cover a year 1 class. Now I took this job to just teach in EYFS. I don’t mind covering but no one has come to speak to me or tell me. I’m finding out though an email a night before. Also it gives me a 30 min lunch with 10 mins spent reading over teachers notes. Supply teacher should be entitled to 1 hour no ?

In email the teacher mentions it was in her to do list from Friday so they knew all along I’d be covering but no one shared.

Good luck with that.

I'm a bit confused about the rest of the detail, but I don't know any Primary school teacher who has the 40mins you are having, let alone an hour.

I also think, if you take on long term cover, then you are seen as a 'normal member of staff' for the length of that cover. It is a very different role from going in for a day.
