Not even acknowledged at part of the team

At work 2 people in my team left due to the bullying and incompetence of the management. The director and another manager sent an email out today advising that the roles will go for advertisement with a new name change and people in the team who are on this pay grade will have this new job name. They said the team manager’s job title will change.

I am still part of the team but a pay grade lower than the others but no reference or consideration was made about my job and my job title would not make sense as everyone else would have a new name which reflects the new team name.

I have emailed my manager and asked will by job title change. I am so angry I have carried this team during vacant staffing periods and covered work for another team. I have a lot more knowledge than some people
higher up too as I have worked there a lot longer. I feel like going off sick or leaving as they do not give a damn about me.

I would wait and see what your manager's reply is. It's possible thry have another plan for other grades they haven't announced yet. If you've covered the role before in absences, can you apply for one of those roles anyway?

I would also spend time getting my CV and LinkedIn profile up-to-date.

Can you afford to just leave? Or do you need to have another job lined up first? Have you been there longer than 2 years?

I suspect that there is some general unhappiness about the job here (possibly you are also subject to the same general incompetence and bullying that's affected others?)

This incident, in itself, is not worth this reaction. Even if they have forgotten about you, and not simply started with more senior roles before moving onto others, simply emailing as you have done and waiting for a response is the only thing that needs doing at the moment.

Why don't you apply for the open roles? Sounds like you have great knowledge and experience.

My manager just updated me and said his manager was supposed to speak to me as he said he would speak to all team members. My manager said my job title will change but no changes to the job. I am glad my manager put my mind as for the director and other manager I understand now they don’t value my contributions as they don’t think they need to acknowledge my role.
