Changing sectors back to early career sector

Early in my career I worked in comms/marketing in financial services/financial services adjacent (different roles in risk, insurance and banking). Altogether I worked in financial services for about 5 years, then switched to a unrelated, regulated sector, where I have worked for about 10 years.

I'd like to switch back to financial services because the area where I've moved to has stable, well paying roles in banking and insurance, but my CV never makes it to the interview stage. Having spoken to recruiters etc, the issue is that financial services is not my most recent sector, and even though I've worked in e.g. insurance, that experience is 'old.'

My question is how do I get experience or make the case that my experience is valid so that I make it past that initial 'no'? I'm confident that if I were actually speaking to a hiring manager in an interview, they'd see that my experience is relevant and that I'm a good fit for many of the roles to which I've applied, but I've yet to have the opportunity for that conversation.
