Anxiety from work

I’m 45 and lately I dread work. Mainly because being in meetings sometimes gives me panic attacks and I don’t know when it will happen and I’m so ashamed.

Is it possible it’s menopause?
I really just want to quit all together.

Sorry that you are experiencing this. Absolutely could be perimenopause, I was feeling similar about work a few months ago and seriously considering going off sick due to stress/anxiety or leaving my job. Meetings were horrible. HRT has made a massive difference and I've got my confidence back. There's a menopause board on here where I'm sure you would get good advice.

I would speak to your GP to see if they can give you some medication for anxiety. I take propranolol before big meetings as I went through phase of panic attacks afew years back. It’s been transformative for me. X

echo PPs comment about propranolol for big meetings or situations where I might be called upon to talk and be put in the spotlight.
