I am starting in local government in two weeks and am getting more nervous every day. I never used to be like this. I think it’s worse as I will be full time and worried I won’t manage it. I hope your first week goes really well.

It's funny because I never used to get this nervous too, worrying about things like people looking at me because I'm new! What the hell is that about, I sound like a child

Congratulations! You can do it. That's why they hired you.

Thousands of pupils are starting new schools this month. They are children. Some are truly tiny, hardly 5 years old. Some have left behind their old school and friends, maybe even pets ! - They are moving to new schools, across town, to a new county or region or even across the planet to different continents with different languages at their parents' whim. (at least you chose your new job)

Thousands of teachers are starting new jobs this month. Some are starting in a new school in a new area. Some are teaching totally different subjects compared to last year. Each year, many teachers are asked to teach unexpected subjects to fill gaps due to colleagues leaving.

If they can do it, you can too. Have a great first day!
