Career change from events

Hi All

I am looking for some advice and would love to hear others’ stories.

I have worked in events in the past 10yrs in the charity sector and worked my way up to a mid-manager level where I’m kind of stuck.

I am good at my job and I love managing my team but I feel like more and more tasks are being dumped on me and it isn’t rewarding anymore, I also don’t see the impact of my work. The salary is okay but even with a side hustle it’s under £60k (London based).

I would love to change careers using transferable skills or even upskilling. I tried coding but it wasn’t for me. I thought about law but I feel too old for that kind of journey.

Any suggestions?

Would you be open to events management in a different sector for variety/better pay?

Yes definitely but most jobs are sector specific and I don’t even stand a chance. I have tried many times.

Hmm probably not my cup of tea but worth considering!

I was thinking something like location manager?

What about something service delivery wise?

Which bits of your job / industry do you really get a kick from?

Project management. Almost every industry employs project managers.
