PhD - anyone interested?

I have an unused PhD in languages - which has been of no use whatsoever in my "career". 😄 Outside of academia, are any employers interested? I'd like to change jobs and ideally work from home but feel really stuck and out of practice. (I've had the same job for 25 years).

Which languages? Are you on LinkedIn and networking? What do you want to change from?

Languages are always in demand but it depends on what they are and what your other skillsets are like.
There will be something!

Companies that work internationally would be interested if the language is relevant. My friend got a job entirely on the basis of her languages and the company paid for professional exams. So yes, possible.

If it's an 'economically useful" language and you genuinely are fluent in it, then employers might be interested in that if you're able to combine this fluency with another marketable skill (e.g. accounting).
