No temps in place

2 weeks ago 2 members of staff left the team. I understand why they left due to bad management. The manager has not got any temps in as he said a director said wait to recruit people as they are doing a restructure. Another colleague pulled him up about it and said so you are just going to let you team burn out for months then. He spent one day looking for temps and nothing has happened since.

I think they are looking to advertise soon but the job has to be advertised for a few weeks then people have to give notice at their current employer. It is disgusting the management think it is acceptable that staff have to struggle for over 2 months just so they save money. It is really bad for customers as their cases are being neglected.

Is it like this at other workplaces or do management actually respect the staff and put resources in place?

It's like that at other workplaces too.

Where I work, if someone leaves they always get replaced BUT they don;t advertise the vacancy until after they have actually left so as you say, by the time someone actually starts, its usually a minimum of 2 months being shortstaffed.
