Career change advice - jobs helping families

I am currently working as a manager in the charity sector and whilst I know my job contributes to the bigger picture, I want to do more hands-on work. Since having my DS, and going through PND, I want to use my experience to help others. I've had a lot of therapy in my life, and would love to be a counsellor one day but it is very expensive to train.

I really want to do something where I can help families or new parents directly. I've been looking at social work, family support etc, but would like to know if anyone here has a job like this or another type of role I could look in to. I'm also looking at volunteering but obviously that won't pay the bills.

I'm willing to retrain and am probably aiming for a salary of £25k minimum. Any thoughts or suggestions?
