New job break time

So I am working part time and now on training working 6 hours with an hour unpaid break
I took it on the 1st day but manager says it will now be 20mins I said ok and I took 20 mins today and then it occurred to me I am entitled to 1 hour unpaid and now told to take 2mins
Which means 40mins will have to be paid for right?

Or is it that the 1 hour unpaid break is for people who are working for longer say 8 or 9 hours?

Legal entitlement is 20 mins between the 3rd and 5th hour.

I'd be extremely surprised if you got a full hour and any of it was paid.

If you work for more than 6 hours a day, you're entitled to an uninterrupted rest break of at least 20 minutes - for example a tea or lunch break.

how many hours are you being paid for ? 6 or 5?

do you do a 7 hour day say 8-3 and get paid for 6?

The working time regulations say that employees need a 20 min break every 6 hours so that will be why they are telling you to take 20 mins - the break can be unpaid.

Probably best to seek clarification from your manager about breaks and pay.

You'll have to check how many hours you are getting paid for. If you work more than 6 hours you're entitled to a 20 minute break but that may be paid or unpaid.

You can always ask if the 20 mins is paid or unpaid, but I would say it is typically unpaid.
