15hr a week contract - help

Hello - just trying to get my head around the money side of this. I have been offered a job where salary is £30,229. The contract states I get paid for 15hrs a week if I work 37hrs or 0hrs. So how do I work out my monthly take home pay? It is a permanent position.

I’m not sure what you mean. How many hours a week are you actually going to be working? Is that the full time salary, so the salary for you if you are doing 15 hours a week only is pro rata?

Is it term time only, so effectively you’re working full time for some weeks and not at all for other? If so, and the salary is pro rata, you need to divide salary by full time hours and then multiply by 15 to get your pro rata pay. So approx 12k in that case. Tbh though if you’re working 37 hours term time this means you’re losing out, your average working hours should even out at 15 per week

It's not termtime only it's a permanent contract so it is pro rata. So I get paid 15hrs a week if I work 37 or 0. Just thinking it's not what I thought and odds stacked in their favour...

Is it an annualised hours contract where the hours worked balances out over a period of time?
if so, you will get paid £15k ish per year, the same every month/ week

I think so, they said if I start in Sept then I would hope to be at 0 hours by March.
I'm just quite unsure about this contract and feel I need to understand it!

The hourly rate for that salary is £15.71. So if you are contracted 15 hours you’d be on £12,255 per year. Monthly salary before deductions would be £1,021

this might help explain. So some weeks/ months you’ll be asked/ expected to work more hours than others. I would be asking when are rotas/ hours agreed for the next week/ month and within what timeframe- days of the week/ weekends.
