Just had an interview!

Hi everyone

I've had an interview for a job I didn't think I wanted but I actually would quite like now!
The 2 interviewees were lovely - should hear back in a few days. Feel like time is going to drag between now and then!
Anyone else have an interview soon or waiting to hear back from one?

Waiting to hear back from a job I really want! They said early evening, not sure when that finishes but I really need to know.

i have handed in my notice because I am leaving my other job regardless but I have had the year from hell and I need some good new for once!

Made me wait until nearly 7pm but I got it!

They said I interviewed really well which was nice. You never feel like that do you?

I’m dealing with the sudden death of someone close to me and my interviewees had been told beforehand and offered condolences and the chance to rearrange but I just needed to do it and know I’ve got another job to go to.

i hope this thread is a good omen and you get the job too😊

I was thinking of applying for a new job but, after a visit and telephone chat, I’ve decided against it. I have till the end of the week to decide.

So it was a nursing job, a step down from my current manager position but a completely different area. They asked me about what I could bring, my understanding of the role, what I knew about any local or national initiatives, the qualities of a healthy team and then some scenario questions.

I knew both the interviewees but sometimes I think that makes it more nerve wracking.

I felt a bit odd not wanting to rearrange but I need a job and another week or 2 really won’t make any difference, it’s going to take a long time to process what me and my family have been through😢

My alternative was just doing bank but I feel like it’s really important now that I have a team around me so I’m very pleased.

I've been waiting to hear since Thursday on a role I applied to and just heard this afternoon I GOT THE JOB!!!

It is hard feeling in limbo for a bit but keep positive!

Now I'm just dreading telling my current employer when I see them next week (not in this week)

Do people hand their notice in straight away or?

Been waiting for two weeks... It was a big third round interview I had to take annual leave to prepare a presentation for and now I feel like I'm being ghosted. Even sent an email last week and no reply. It's just so very rude. 😒

@outwiththeoldx previously I’ve always handed in my notice when I received my unconditional offer.

This time I leapt with nowhere to go and handed in my notice before the closing date for this job. I knew it was a risk but was really happy at the time just to do bank for a while.

I always recommended to everyone else they wait for the unconditional offer too. It’s just a pain that the notice period for band 7 and above is now 12 weeks🫣, feels like a lifetime!

I think mines 8 weeks unconditional offers take months 🙈 changing jobs is stressful isn't it x

If it wasn't my dream job I would just see red flags and think that they didn't treat people well there, and move on already. I applied literally months ago, it's been a proper saga 😒

@MrsJamin I'm in a similar situation they said they'd let me know within 4 days and it's been a week now! I'm not sure if I even want the job anymore.

OP I had an interview some years ago that I really didn't think was a contender, but went along just in case. I really wanted it after the interview! thankfully I got it (after 2 more interviews with them). Am still there and very happy, so hope it works out for you.

@Conniethecatapillar rubbish isn't it? I jump to my phone every time it buzzes, it's so very distracting. I'm actually just getting really angry with them now. The total lack of communication is nearly indefensible.

Today has dragged although I've been busy. Hopefully one more day and will know what's what with a drop of luck x

I had one a few months ago. I was uncertain because I'd not worked in that area for a few years, but thought I'd go to the interview and see what it was like and decide if i wanted it after.

Thank God I did because i got it and now I'm loving my new role. Good luck ladies ❤️

I didn't get it guys found out this morning.

Got good feedback she asked if I will apply again when they release some more hours. She said I did really well so she doesn’t want me to be hard on myself but just to get a few more points go more in depth with my answers. Wasn’t meant to be hopefully I hear back from other options 🤞🏾 x
