Interview presentations- Help!

Hi, I have applied for a promotion at work this weekend. I think my application looks quite good- I meet the requirements for the post so I may get an interview.
Its not a team that I'm familiar with, I have not worked with them before so I have no insight into the team structure, whos whos etc.

As it is a senior position I suspect that they will ask me to do a presentation "why you want the job" or on a specialist topic related to the post, as part of the interview. Here's the problem: I am rubbish at doing presentations - I get by in my current job but this new post would mean I have to step up and improve this. If I was successful in the post I would do this, and book myself on training. I need to do this anyway but never got round to it.

  1. If I'm asked to do a presentation (assuming its a powerpoint) would you use the "corporate" template that my company uses - the standard template puts our logo and style on the slides or should I try something with a blank template or more personalised to me?

  2. Is there any quick training available that I could swot up on my powerpoint skills- I have never had any formal training and just "got by" with basic slides.

  3. Are there services out there (as cheap as possible!) where I could ask them to prepare my presentation for me - obviously I would write the technical content was practice it before I presented.

Thanks!

Have a look on you tube. There's plenty of free advice out there. I wouldn't recommend paying someone to do the presentation for you for the interview - do you have a mentor or someone else who could give you advice and feedback

I think your presentation should be your own work. We used to sign the application stating it was all our own work or words to that effect.

I would use a corporate template if given a corporate topic.
