Dropping down from a band 6

Hi I have been a band 6 for 4 years and qualified for 7 years. I moved trusts 15 months ago and I am really considering stepping down to a band 5 I feel it will help me be less stressed and I have situations going on at home. But just wondering what happens. Do the trust have to find you a lower position or is it down to you.

Speak to your manager - realistically I expect you would need to apply for, and be offered, a B5 job which may mean moving to a different clinical area.

I did this years ago at a time in my life where I needed less responsibility for a few years.
I had to apply for a vacant band 5 job though as my current job couldn't be downgraded' I was lucky there was one came up in my dept

You would need to apply for a band 5 post in my trust….and be interviewed along with whoever else has applied…..just be careful that any band 5 role might be just as stressful ….and your pension will start to take a hit….why not look for a band 6 post outside of your current trust
