PIP and job hunting

On a PIP but job hunting. It’s taking a while but am getting interviews. Had a 15 min interview where company said loved my CV etc, will have an interview with hiring manager and then will go to panel. It seems like it’ll go quick but then Glassdoor gives variable reviews but a lot of don’t do it. I have got 4 weeks till my first potential of escalation under capability policy. If I’m successful would you take the new job just to give time to pause (it would help with my non compete as they are not in direct competition)? I don’t want to
jump from trying pan into the fire but equally I feel I’m running out of time. I don’t agree with the PIp but feel im being managed out despite years of successful career. I have no warnings but business has been bad and there have been layoffs. There are secret initiatives going on which are hush hush and also my colleague also been put in a PIP (again previous successful record). Is there any point in raising a grievance or would this hasten exit ? Other colleagues are in the dark also apart from one person who seems to be the favourite of our new line manager (whose only been in the door 3 months)
