Was wondering if I change wards in the same hospital does my sickness record transfer over with me to the new ward.

Yes I would imagine so as you are employed by the hospital not the ward

LuLuRN · 22/08/2024 22:42

Yes

It will follow you in any NHS role anywhere.

In terms of potential disciplinary for being off too much.

If you're in the same Trust then yes.
And it will likely be mentioned in your reference too as NHS references usually ask about sickness absences records

Theworker · 23/08/2024 00:25

So leave the Trust and the sickness in terms of disciplinary hearing gets wiped out if off again.

Your reference would ask about sickness. If you’ve had enough to hit triggers the job offer would likely be withdrawn. (Ex NHS HR.)

Yes

Anywhere in the NHS

Ohdosodoffdear · 23/08/2024 08:31

Yes you're sickness follows you. If you left the NHS completely for e.g a month then rejoined you'd presumably lose all your terms and conditions, have a break in service for pension etc, probably a dreadful idea.

alienhead · 23/08/2024 08:41

Formal investigations will follow you.

If you want to stay in the NHS it's best to stay put and ride out the period with poor sickness absence record.
Any NHS jobs will ask for your sickness record over past 2 years so it's good to get this looking better before applying elsewhere
