(childfree, single UK to HK immigrant)
Have started first full week at new dream job-I teach highly academic English at a centre in HK. I formally had my first few days at the end of the last week after interviewing on the Monday and accepting on Wednesday and signing on Thursday. (Starting to sound a Craig David song.)
Yet I digress.
What I don't understand is that I'm told a lot of conflicting information such as how to tap out at the end of the day, today was just confusion central. I had two students whom I was led to believe would be here for more than one lesson of 60 minutes each. It turns out that both lessons were only 40 minutes due to being trial lessons. I was told that the first would be a trial, but not that it would be only 40 minutes and was given too much work to do for the whole lesson. The next one was a trial lesson too but no one told me that it wasn't 60 minutes despite having sat through meetings including one that same afternoon. I didn't know until the receptionist had to physically come up to tell me. We have a very sophisticated scheduling system on iCalendars but the lesson was scheduled for 60 minutes.
I don't know who to believe anymore. I don't get chances to ask any co-workers for help as everyone is busy in their own classrooms.
