Just to checkโ€ฆ is it a senior management job youโ€™re going for?

If soโ€ฆ

a happy, productive and developing team

Achievingโ€ฆ whatever seems relevant

Ideally excelling to achieveโ€ฆ relevant stretch goal

And personally, youโ€™d like to doโ€ฆ relevant stretch thing. Raising your profile with speaking opportunities or something thatโ€™s a bit extra to the day job.

Jammylou · 14/08/2024 20:23

Tbh if you are going for a Senior Management role you shouldn't need help on this answer.

Success would be a bunch of minions running around doing my job for me, while i take extended breaks.

Which is obviously not the right answer!

Paintpalette · 15/08/2024 11:46

Well it really is about what success would look like for YOU. Don't say something generic that others can come up with or you think they want to hear. Focus on your vision and goals and the steps you'd take to embed them.

DinnaeFashYersel · 15/08/2024 11:59

High performing team, achieving goals and exceeding targets
Good staff retention and low absence rates

Put your question into ChatGPT and it'll give you an example answer. I just tried it, came up with a massive response so won't post it all here, but the final summary paragraph was :

""Success in a senior management role for me would be defined by building and leading a high-performing team, achieving strategic objectives, and making a positive, lasting impact on the organization. This includes driving growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, all while finding personal fulfillment in the role. Moreover, being able to navigate challenges with resilience and adaptability would also be key indicators of success."
This answer shows that you have a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities of a senior management role and that you are committed to contributing to the organizationโ€™s success in a meaningful and balanced way."

Mochaccino99 · 15/08/2024 12:49

That's all just waffle obviously! You need to make it specific to the role

Greenbanana7 · 15/08/2024 18:30

@Mochaccino99 i love the fact that you ran a ChatGBT search for me, really appreciate that. Didnโ€™t occur to me to do this, doh!

Haha, no probs, I love ChatGPT. It's brilliant for this kind of corporate chat when you just need a starter to re-write in your own words. You can also post the entire job spec in and ask it for likely interview questions which is good for practising your answers.
Good luck with the interview!
