I WFH and have a 1 year old who is either in nursery or looked after by a family member. I'm never alone with her during working hours as I wouldn't be allowed to take my child into the office.

Not sure what you mean by your 3 year old isn't in nursery due to personal circumstances? Your child needs to be in nursery whilst you're working whether from home or out of the home. It's not fair on your employer or colleagues if most of your attention is on your toddler. I don't enjoy paying for nursery fees but I need to work.

I don't have a 3 year old. My youngest is 6.

Yesterday they sat next to me playing lego whilst I did some work. They played alone when I was in meetings.

Don't know why people are getting wound up. It works fine for me. My work know about it and they don't care. My job gets done well.

So not at all the same issue as the OP, it would have been helpful to add that your child isnt a toddler when you first pisted
