Bullying at work

For do text, I am 25.

Joined a new company two years ago. I was assigned a "buddy" who made it clear very fast she wasn't interested in being friends/chatty. Fine by me, I don't come to work to make best friends.

I moved department after 6 months (planned) and about a year after that came back to the office I started in.

This girl is 20. She has been going around asking people what their opinion is on me and if they tell her they like me, she jumps in and says she hates me and I'm an awful person. She's been going around telling people I need to be put in my place and knocked down a peg or two. Says I'm too chatty (I never speak to her) and I don't fit the company.

I'm starting to get worried that she's going make a HR report to try and get me sacked. She really hates me despite us only working together for about 3 months 2 years ago. We're very different - she's very religious, I'm not, she dislikes a lot of my music taste and hobbies.

I don't want any trouble and don't want to make reports etc but I feel awful at work, I don't enjoy coming in anymore because I feel like I'm on edge. I'm trying to just keep my head down and keep away from her, but I don’t know what to do anymore.

Fantastic news, I'm pleased for you, hopefully the atmosphere will improve.
Love it when the trash takes itself out 😁

So I have just sent an email around to our office re. a bake sale.

She has obviously meant to forward this on to someone being very snippy - being nasty about my looks, my ideas and my work ethic. She has accidentally hit reply all!!!!

I have had an email from my manager who has said we will discuss this tomorrow, I can't help but think this is karma in action

Ha she might have solved your problem for you then by exposing herself what she is.
This would be an excellent opportunity to raise these issues with your manager, now you have proof! Good luck

Tbh; take a deep breath and have it out with her:) I’ve done this before with someone 20 plus years older than me and she crumbled like a tonne or bricks. I’m sure you don’t need this at work, nor that you get paid enough for aggro !
don’t be aggressive;” I’ve bn told you feel that I do xyz and I need bringing down a peg or too?
therefore, I have requested a meeting with HR as I’d hate to make you uncomfortable at work ;)”
but then I’m passive aggressive so …..

What a brilliant outcome for you. Horrible situation to have to go through but glad her own actions have led to her being moved and quickly. Hope HR continue to keep a close eye on her. Leopards don't change their spots!
