Second career ideas

I've been working 25+ years in the same industry but have taken the summer off to spend time with my kids. I am self employed so get 1-2 year contracts. I do a technical, numerate job but not finance related. I have two masters degrees in Engineering from good unis. I'm good with people and used to working in teams. I'm no good at sales / bullshitting..

Anyone have experience of finding a second career? I'm 50 this year and need something that pays more than £100k to meet my family commitments.

What was your previous industry?

You want to change career but start on £100k +?

That's rather what I was thinking!

You're not going to be able to completely pivot career and land on 100k a year. Any similar careers to your current one you might be interested in? Sounds like more of a career shift than career change that you can achieve.

Good point re career shift rather than career change.

Has anyone else experience of finding a new direction?

... I moved from team management (in my technical area of expertise) to asset management, at the same grade and salary.
