hi ladies
im currently in a managerial role for a large organisation. I’ve been on maternity leave but due back next month.
plan was for me to step down as DD’s father left me and in order to look after her I would have to do a part time role which means stepping down into in a sort of admin based role with no managerial responsibilities.
my Management team have now advised that there’s the opportunity for me to job share my managerial role but it would mean that the days and hours aren’t as flexible for me with DD.
I am due to put DD in nursery however as this wasn’t the plan (in terms of returning so work so soon) i hadn’t even looked at places and now most are taking bookings for 2026…. So flexibility is some what important.
im pretty torn with what to do - going part time in an admin based role just seems the best option as it would be far less pressure. However, I appreciate that staying in my managerial role and job sharing means I can stay on the same salary and level in my career.
for those whose job share - how do you find it? Would you recommend? Does it impact annual leave?
