Non Exec Director Interview

I have an interview for a NED role coming up soon. It will be my first one and is part of a complete career rethink. Wondering if anyone can give me any top tips? Am assuming it will be like most senior roles but any advice or thoughts would be most welcome. It is for an organisation I would love to be a part of.

Thought I would come back on @Canyoudigityesyoucan as had the interview a couple of days ago. Was an interesting experience as I am very used to competency based interviews around a well defined JD and this was a competency based interview without really knowing what they are assessing for as will ultimately be much more about fit with the other Board members and whether I fill the skills gap they are looking for.

Questions covered a bit on leadership style, wanting to understand how well I knew the organisation, they wanted demonstrable evidence of delivery and impact on some impossible targets.

I suspect there are plenty of people that would have BS on the last one. And they may well get the role. But I know the challenges and sector and if they need someone to pat them on the back I am probably not it.

To be honest it was a bit of an odd one. Not sure if this is standard for NED roles or just this interview.
