SMP question confused

Hi all. So I got my 6 weeks 90% in one chunk in last month's pay. Therefore I was expecting the low pay this month with the £184 weekly pay Smp. But I have been paid £1200 and I have no idea why? My work aren't responding too my emails and I don't want to move any incase this weirdly is like 2 months worth or something? Any ideas?

I didn't know this but the 90% calculation is not done on just your monthly salary, it's done on a specific period of your pregnancy. In my first pregnancy the period fell over New Year, which is when I get my bonus, so my payment for my 90% was actually calculated based on my bonus month, and was therefore higher than my actual normal monthly salary. Could this have happened for you?

So perhaps you didn't receive 6 weeks worth in one go, you got the normal 4/5 weeks but calculated on a bonus month so it seemed higher than it should have been for 90%, and this month you've got the remainder of that 90% plus the normal SMP?

I would ring work if I were you anyway to find out as like you say you don't want to move or spend anything that might be a miscalculation.
