*roles!!! Argh can't edit the title!

I'm currently a school governor as a volenteer alongside my main employment. Applying for jobs which are in an education setting. Should I put my governor role in the employment/experience history or just in the supporting statement?

Thanks all

I’m not up to date with these things.
If the statement is read first it needs to be in there. But I would also include in employment if the skills are relevant to the job you’re applying for

I never normally do this but because it's for an application; volunteer.

If its an application form I put volunteering in boxes which like "other experience" or "other interests"

On my CV I put current volunteering roles at the beginning of my CV in "current positions" after my current professional role.

And I would include in the supporting statement to draw out further the transferable skills that you have gained from these roles.

If you are not working in an education setting now I would put it as a job role. It's very relevant and if you don't have previous ed. experience needs to be up front and centre.

Add it to your Personal Profile, at the top of the CV, using it to illustrate skills relevant to the role you are applying for. Then add to the additional information at the end of the CV, so Volunteering and Interests. If you sit on a committee for a particular area, say Safeguarding, add this. You can also add any training courses into the Education & Training Section, highlighting the governor training, safeguarding, health & safety, etc.
