Finally working from home after more than 20 years.....

Job is fully remote and I'm on the training course for 8 weeks minimum. My 2 other work mates are in the office for now as they are local but my team is all over the UK and abroad.
I've always gone out to work and did shifts, I am almost pinching myself now. I've never even had an hour for lunch!
Is this really the dream or will I come back to earth? Everyone is so nice and supportive so far......

You will love it! Congratulations 😊

I have worked remotely for 13 years and I couldn’t and wouldn’t return to an office.

The freedom is amazing!

I predominantly work from home. It has its negative aspects but on the whole I appreciate its benefits especially now I'm 57.

It's a really individual thing. I think it depends on both your personality and your role.

I have some staff who wfh 100% and some who work in the office (different types of role and different types of contract). The office based ones all have the option to do hybrid and most do, but some opt to come to the office every day.

Some of the 100% wfh team love it. Others find it very isolating. I have had to start paying for co-working spaces for a couple who really hate wfh all the time because they were recruited to work remotely and it's too far to commute.

Within the office-based team, we had one person who repeatedly asked to work exclusively from home but we told her it wasn't possible to do 100% (client facing). She eventually left to take a remote role and cited this as the reason for going but she hated wfh and returned within a year!

Hope it works for you though, OP.
