Forgive me for the very basic my-first-writing-job question but I genuinely am a bit stuck. I am looking at getting into freelance writing and copywriting work and a friend of mine has asked if I'd like to takeover her business blog and write the odd article for her website. She is a successful entrepreneur whose business is beginning to take off albeit in the early stages. I have accepted and already produced a great blog piece for her; formatted, referenced and including images. It's a short piece at 670 words but she's really happy with that for a blog entry and loves the content/vibe.
What do you think I should charge? Considering I am a junior in this field, and she's a pal 🫥 I would like to charge per word but feel I may be undercutting myself slightly as the effort and time it takes to source images, check royalties, format, reference etc can take as long as the writing itself.
