had an interview for a CS position 4 weeks ago. I had not heard back from them so I emailed for some updates, and this is what I got: "Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, we are still awaiting an update from the vacancy holder regarding this vacancy. Many circumstances can cause the unexpected delay to the release of results, including the large number of candidates to consider. Please be assured that once there is any update you will be informed via your civil service jobs account.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Kind Regards
Am I right in thinking that the longer it takes to let me know the less chance I have? I am thinking that they would let successful applicants know before sending rejection emails, as the successful applicant may not accept. The suspense is killing me but now I am preparing for bad news.
Any thoughts?
