Pay and wfh

Just a general question. When I was working we paid a London allowance to those working in London. Do companies drop this when employing work from home? It would seem strange that you could be wfh getting an allowance while your neighbour, employed by the same company, wasn't because he/she wasn't London based.

We don't pay a London allowance any more as every one of our jobs has a choice of wfh, hybrid or office based with no requirement to be based in a London office.

And there are other parts of the UK now affected by inflated living costs, not just London.

Where I work in order to receive the extra allowance you have to attend the office for 60% of your working time, they monitor it closely and if you don’t meet that then it stops
