Hello all,

Wondering if anyone can help please.

My daughter is currently 10 months and due to be 1 on the 06/09/24. On the childcare choices website it appears that she can get her hours from September 1st (when funding starts) does anyone know if this correct?

Her nursery are saying she won't get it until the next term which is Jan 1st, which I'd understand if she wasn't 9 months by September.

Any help appreciated
Nat

Hello

When are you going back to work?

If you are back at work before the end of September, then you are correct your daughter should receive the hours from September as she is 9 months by then.

However if you are back at work after 30 September, she will get the hours the term after - so in January.

Screenshot from gov website explains - hope that helps

Just thought - if your daughter turns one in early September then I assume your maternity leave ends then too (since we only get 52 weeks here in the uk!). Hence you should be entitled from the September term (since the cut off date is the 30 September). Even if you are tagging AL on the end of maternity it still counts as being back at work.

So yes you should be entitled from September!

Thank you guys, I thought as much. Yes I will be back by the end of August so it's all good in the hood. Nursery have sorted it out now 👍
Appreciate your replies 🙏
