I have worked for a company for 7.5 years. From the first year I knew where I wanted to go and figured out how to best navigate the company to land the role.
I have had 3 promotions and was successful with all of them.
It finally happened and they posted a "junior" role for exactly what I was looking for! Perfect, right?! I have %100 confidence in myself and I feel I nailed the interviews (6 of them mind you for a junior role).
However, I have this sinking feeling they will choose the other guy with way less experience. I will be devastated, but I don't want to live in that state. I don't want to go into a dark place. It is so hard to face the blow of being turned down multiple times with no feedback...NONE. Not to mention the last one they turned me down for I found out by the other candidate's job announcement.
Why do companies do this?
